The boy, Julio Macias Gonzalez, was home eating dinner with his family after spending the evening with his girlfriend.

While at the dinner table, the 17-year-old went into convulsions and died soon after, despite paramedics trying best to save him.

It was reported that the love bite – also known as a 'hickey' – from his girlfriend caused a blood clot that travelled to Julio's brain and caused him to have a stroke.

The grieving family is now blaming his girlfriend for the death

The family, from the Iztapalapa borough, told local media they had disapproved of the seven year age difference between their son and his girlfriend, but he had refused to break up with her.

This is not the first reported incident of a hickey causing a stroke

A hickey had caused a 44-year-old New Zealand woman to have a non-fatal stroke, according to a 2010 study published in the New Zealand Medical Journal.

Researchers at the time called the medical condition “a rare phenomenon.”

Seeing how hickeys are not a good idea, maybe try this?
